Breaking News on Book Sales and Donations!
As we prepare for our exciting move to the new Pamlico County Public Library, the Friends of the Pamlico County Public Library are beginning to pack the storage trailer that keeps our donated books safe and serves as the space for our beloved monthly book sales. There are two more chances to grab some great reads: join us on Saturday, February 8th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Please note that after the February book sale, our book sales will pause until we’ve settled into our new location.
We would also like to inform you that we cannot accept any book donations after January 15th. However, you can still donate books to alternative locations, such as the Hospice Thrift Store of Pamlico, the Salvation Army Thrift Store in Bayboro, and the Goodwill Store in New Bern. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will keep everyone updated on when we can resume accepting donations. Thank you for your understanding!
Friends of the Pamlico Library is leading the development of a modern, multi-use library that serves as a true community resource center.
Designed to hold a 36,000-item collection, the 10,000 square foot facility will be much more than a traditional library, with common space and individual meeting rooms, technology resources such as computer and internet access, a business center to encourage and support economic growth, multi-generational reading rooms, and an internet café that provides youth employment and training. Libraries are becoming less about materials and more about the experience of learning and connecting. Our vision is a multipurpose space with creative programs and offerings that will serve the needs of our community today and into the future. Bonnie Cap, President, FOL
